A factory reset clears custom router settings. To update or reset your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password, manage your Wi-Fi details in the gFiber app instead.
  1. Ensure your gFiber Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7, or Multi-Gig Router is plugged in and powered on.
  2. Locate the recessed Reset button on the back or base of the router.
  3. Insert an unfolded paperclip into the Reset hole, press and hold the button for 10 seconds, and release when the power light blinks red.
  4. Wait 3 to 5 minutes for the router to restart and load factory default settings.
  5. Verify that the Power and Internet lights turn solid green or solid blue.

Do not disconnect the power cable or unplug the router while the status indicator lights are blinking during the reset sequence.

Factory reset a gFiber Mesh Extender

Factory resetting a Mesh Extender restores hardware defaults. You must pair the extender with your primary gFiber router after completing this process.

  1. Verify that your gFiber Mesh Extender is plugged into a wall outlet and powered on.
  2. Locate the Reset button on the base or rear panel near the power port.
  3. Use an unfolded paperclip to press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds.
  4. Release the button when the WPS light sequence transitions from Blinking Red to Off to Solid Yellow.
  5. Re-pair the Mesh Extender with your gFiber router following the pairing steps in the gFiber app.

Factory reset a Fiber Jack

Resetting your Fiber Jack clears internal hardware cache and restores the direct optical link to the gFiber network when standard restarting does not resolve connection drops.

  1. Locate your Fiber Jack power source:
    • Single-light models: Unplug the Ethernet cable directly from the Fiber Jack or router WAN port.
    • Four-light models: Unplug the AC adapter from the wall power outlet.
  2. Leave the device completely disconnected for 30 seconds to allow the hardware to drain power.
  3. Reconnect the cable or power pin securely.
  4. Allow 2 to 3 minutes for the device to register on the gFiber network.
  5. Check that the LED indicators illuminate solid blue or solid green.
alert-red
If the status light on your Fiber Jack remains solid red or blinking red after restarting, contact gFiber support immediately and mention "red light on Fiber Jack" to route your request to a repair specialist.
