Transfer gFiber Internet Service to a New Address

Learn how to check address availability, schedule your service transfer with customer support, and set up your equipment at your new location.

Check service availability at your new address

Before transferring your account, confirm whether gFiber internet service is available at your new home:
  1. Open a private or incognito web browser window.
  2. Go to gfiber.com.
  3. Enter your new street address and click Check Availability.
The tool will display whether gFiber service is available at your new location. If service is unavailable, contact gFiber customer support to schedule account cancellation for your move-out date.

Service transfer eligibility varies by property type and account. Multi-family properties may require setting up a new account. Business accounts (SMB) cannot be transferred and must be canceled and re-established at the new address.

Schedule your address transfer with support

Contact gFiber customer support up to 30 days before your move to ensure a smooth transition without service interruptions:
  1. Pay any remaining balance to bring your total account balance to $0.
  2. Contact gFiber customer support with your new street address and expected move-in and move-out dates.
gFiber will schedule your account transfer and confirm whether your new address requires a professional technician installation or a self-install kit.
alert-warning
Service stays active through 12:01 AM the day after your move-out date. If your move is delayed, service will pause automatically to avoid extra charges and resume once activated at your new address.

Pack and move your gFiber equipment

When packing your home, take your gFiber hardware with you to set up at your new location:
  • Equipment to bring: Bring your router, mesh extenders, Ethernet cords, power cables, and gFiber Phone Box (if applicable).
  • Equipment to leave behind: Leave the Fiber Jack mounted to the wall at your original property. Your new address will either have one installed or be scheduled to receive a new one.

Activate service at your new location

alert-warning
You have 60 days from your scheduled move date to plug in your equipment and activate service before your account is automatically canceled. If you paid for a full month and service activation is delayed past 24 hours, a prorated credit will automatically apply to your next bill.

Once you arrive at your new address, restore your internet connection based on your installation method:

Self-Install Kit Activation

Technician Installation

  1. Your gFiber technician will arrive during your scheduled installation appointment window.
  2. The technician will verify equipment connectivity and complete account activation on site.
